Negative Keywords

posted on 30 December 2011 | posted in Uncategorised

Something that many people forget when they are setting up a PPC advertising campaign is negative keywords. What this means is that when you are setting the target keywords, you ask for some to be missed out. For example if you sell only HD televisions, then you might put ‘buy televisions online’ but have a negative keyword of ‘3D’ because you do not sell those.

Think about what you are selling and what your competitors are selling and you will be able to think more about what negative keywords you might want to consider using. This can be quite tricky and some people choose to use a PPC management company to help them.

The advantage of using a company to help you, is that they will know all about every aspect of PPC Management. They will not only be able to advise you on things like negative keywords, but probably other things that you were not aware that you needed to think about.

Although you will have to pay for their services, it could save you a lot of money in the long run because they could make your campaign more profitable. This means that for every penny that you spend on advertising, you will make more back and in the long term, this could add up to making a big difference.

Obviously if you only have a very small budget and small income, then you may not be able to afford to do this, but it could be something that you aim towards in the future or that you save up for, because it can make a big difference to your profits and the overall success of your business. You may not be able to afford to not do it, if you want to be more successful and grow. It is certainly worth investigating.
