But there are some people who do not even know that they have a septic tank and that is the reason precautionary measures are not taken. It is advisable to ask a certified plumber to check the availability of septic tank in your household.
There are highly effective actions to be taken to lengthen the life span of the septic tank. Avoid using too much water during laundry because it will be putting too much water into the system and can flood and flush the solid out of the septic tank to the drain field.
It is important to submit your tank to a periodic pumping to avoid more solid to settle into the tank. Have it pump every 1-3 years and have it cleaned thoroughly brushing the side to ensure that there is no leak or cracks in the tank.
